Cotton On - Chula Vista, California 91915 - Otay Ranch Town Center

For starters let me just say that anytime someone takes time out of their day to post a review of one’s experience it either means the experience was exceptional or far from it. Unfortunately in this case CottonOn located at Otay Ranch Shopping center is rated far from exceptional in my opinion. Since the store has re-opened (this year 2020) I recall walking in the store at least twice on occasion without receiving any acknowledgment from staff employees. No warm welcome, no greeting. Furthermore, I’ve purposely walked by employees restocking and organizing without being given a simple hello. Shopping is a privilege, nonetheless a luxury especially during these unprecedented times. I could make due with the wardrobe at home but I figured why not take advantage of a great deal? I just remember how unpleasant and somewhat uncomfortable it was shopping at this store almost as if I wasn’t supposed to be there. Could you imagine what that must feel like? It takes 3 seconds to acknowledge a patron looking to buy or browse. I bought over $200 worth of merchandise during the big sale and was really hoping to make an exchange. Due to the unwelcoming experience I decided to do a refund instead. Having experienced staff who chose to give the feeling of unwelcome certainly puts me out of the mood for shopping. We live in times where reviews matter to the success of your business. People want to know what the experience is like and if it’s worth it or not and I honestly do not see the value in shopping at CottonOn Otay Ranch. I will no longer shop at this location and I will be sharing my experience with friends and family. I’m not certain if management/owner would find this very satisfying but I’ve certainly taken notes on how to NOT run a business based on my experience at this location. I hope someone finds this message useful.
