Amazing! by ,
Went in as a brunette and came out a blond! I am amazed at how beautiful the color is. Extremely top class service and worth every dollar for being able to do something no other hair dresser I've had could pull off! Highly recommend for color and cut.
Great haircut with horrible service! by ,
I have been going to Adam for more than 5 years. I started with his former partner, Omar, at Mitchel's Hair in Crabtree until they closed. Omar knew only one haircut and that was to make mine look like his. It was close to a swim cap type look but it lasted me awhile. When Omar wasn't available, I saw Adam. He was frequently late for an appointment and also smelled horrible like cigarette smoke. He still does. I would wait over 15 minutes for him to appear. I never said anything about it and tried to be understanding. When Mitchel's closed, Omar and Adam started a new salon, istyle. The transition seemed fine. Omar and Adam had a "falling out." Omar left and Adam was now in charge of the "salon." Adam always did a nice haircut and even says, "excuse me" while trimming around the ears. I always thought that was polite and funny. He still smelled like cigarette smoke, and I had to ask him to wash his hands every time so my head didn't smell like cigarettes. I got what I call a "simple haircut." I use no products, don't ask for washing or coloring. I also don't care to really look over my haircut. I ALWAYS call if I can't make an appointment with 24 hour notice. I also tip at least 20%. The last time I went in for a haircut was a little over a month ago. I only get haircuts 7-8 times a year. Adam asked me how I wanted my hair. I told him I want it trimmed up but not as short as last time. The previous time it was VERY short. I didn't say anything because I was use to the Omar swim cap. Adam started cutting my hair. He cut it for maybe 5 minutes. It was still a little long. You do want to see some hair on the floor for $35. He started to trim it again. This was better. I asked him to trim the sides just a little more and we'd be good. He then to my surprise caught an attitude. He stated yelling at me. I sat there in utter disbelief asking myself if this is REALLY happening. He said, " I cut your hair 3 times now. I will trim this but after this don't come back!" He told me he can't make money cutting my hair if I ask for any revisions. I was afraid as he continued that he'd somehow knick me with some scissors or something on purpose. I sat in a stunned disbelief. I had been going to him for years and all of the sudden he snapped! He didn't have ANY customers waiting but his new partner, Fabby, who I saw at Mitchel's a time or two before was there cutting a guy's hair while his mother looked on. When Adam finished he told me NOT to pay and not come back. I told him I WOULD pay and I did. He accepted my payment but quickly hit the "No Tip" button. I asked him to step out into the mall to talk about what happened. I didn't want his partner's customers to watch his attitude. He told me he can't make money cutting my hair because I asked him for revisions to get what I wanted. He was yelling. He finally calmed down some and apologized with a fist bump. I just thought he was under a lot of stress because he is the only one cutting hair and he can't keep any employees very long. I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I called yesterday to make another appointment against my better judgment and opinions of others. They said, " I wouldn't trust him!" I thought well....a guy who says "excuse me" over and over while trimming couldn't be but so bad. Adam declined to make me a new appointment because of what he told me above. He is now in a new location in the mall with $10,000 in rent. I guess he doesn't need long term customer's business for a payment. I laughed at the other negative reviews on here. I thought...no way! Not Adam! Well now they do seem VERY LOGICAL. I tolerated it because I was trying to be understanding that he was doing everything and to support a small business. He gives a good haircut if you don't ask him for any revisions. He told me when I called ,"I can't stand people like you!" 'Your kind gets on my nerves and makes me angry!" Best of luck Adam!
