Luminous Hair - Tucson, Arizona 85705 - Tucson Mall

9/13/19: Today my "naive" 18 y/o daughter learned a valuable lesson in high pressure salesmanship. She was approached by a Luminous Hair rep at their Kiosk in the Tucson Mall. The rep demo'd the hair straightener on her hair and told her that they cost $300. My daughter said she did not have that kind of money. She was then offered a price of $250. She again told the rep that she could not afford to pay that. The rep took the price down to $120 and then again $100 and quickly rang up the sale . On the receipt , there is wording that says "NO REFUNDS" . There is also wording that says "EXCHANGE WITHIN 14 DAYS ONLY." Within 15 minutes of this sale, I (Mom) approached the reps at this Kiosk and asked that this sale be voided and that $108.70 dollars be returned to her debit card. Here's what conversation occurred next. They could not, because of the "NO REFUND" policy. When I insisted, explaining my daughter's naivete, (not to mention that she already has a straightening iron and doesn't use it, nor does she need a $300 dollar one ), I got this response. 1) "The manager isn't here, and we (3/3 reps) don't have the authorization to do any returns." I suggested they call the Manager. One rep walked away and appeared to be calling and talking to someone. The rep returned stating she could not reach her manager. I also called the Ph# on the receipt and got an answering machine, left a message to speak to the Mgr. The rep told us the Mgr. had already finished the shift for the day and could we come back tomorrow morning when the Mgr would be there. I again asked to return this item. Then.....the next thing the rep said was that the Mgr. was on "vacation" but could possibly still be reached by phone... so we'll have to wait for a call-back." As it appeared that there would be NO satisfactory nor helpful resolution to this event today, I chose to write this review. Shame on you Luminous Hair and the lies your reps create and speak.
