I have been working for several days in my yard and my toenails and fingernails need a really good mani and pedi. I decided to try this nail salon at the Oaks Mall. I was assigned to a female staff named Cookie (sp?) She was nice and friendly at the beginning.Keep calling me “honey” when I told her my name. But when I was starting to check her work because I noticed she was not thorough with how she cleaned my nails. I still saw some dirt within my nails and felt she hardly removed my cuticles. She kept telling me she will take care of my concerns. Even the one toenail that she needed to put an acrylic, she did a very lousy job. I paid $10 extra for that acrylic on my toenail and it was a horrible job! I kept telling her nicely and patiently the problem but she kept on interrupting me that she knows what to do when she hardly listened or heard what I was telling her. She had to redo that particular nail bec she failed to listen to me. I told her if she listened first, she could have avoided redoing that nail and wasting my time. When Iw as ready to pay, I complained to her that my fingernails had some dirt within and she just rudely signaled me back to her station so she can clean them again. I refused to go back and just decided to pay the service without leaving her a tip. The male staff who works there approached me and I told him my complaints. He was nice with his approach but he told me they can’t thoroughly remove the dirt within bec they are not allowed to to that! First of all, she didn’t use a nail brush, and she did not try to use the mani/pedi tool that they use to clean dirt within. I was shocked by the male staff’s explanation. I work in the OR and just using the hand/nail brush this tool can make your fingernails super clean. I paid $66.00 for a lousy and mediocre service. I also felt disrespected by this female staff because instead of apologizing for her poor customer service skills and mediocre workmanship she was even so rude. The male staff was the only one who apologize. I really should have not paid bec I felt it was a highway robbery what she did to me. I just did’t leave her a tip. I am a generous tipper and rarely complains. Also when I complained to her and to the male staff, I was still nice in expressing my issues. My tone was still calm and respectful. My suggestion to the male staff was to tell her to listen to her customers and stop interrupting until she completely heard what the customer is saying. She’s been in the US for 24 years, so she should learn to treat customers with respect specially they are respectful towards her. If you are going to this place, do not let her do your mani/pedi because she has a terrible attitude when she gets corrected and mediocre service. I rate this place ZERO!!!!

Our first time visiting this establishment, and our first choice for future visits! My daughter and I had the Delux Pedicure. From the moment we entered everyone was very friendly, courteous and extremely helpful! The 2 women that did our feet and nails were very professional yet personable. They listened to our concerns and did exactly what we wanted! They made our experience relaxing and very enjoyable while completing the Delux in the time frame we needed to make our next appointment! We highly recommend Modern Nails Salon & Day Spa!!

Long story short they do not perform what was asked and after ruining a pair of $70 sandals that was worn one time the manger after I left the check out desk and no one ever asked for me to pay for the service that was worse than a pre-school child could have done, I left the establishment and several minutes walking in the mall the receptionist who just checked me out said I needed to pay for the service! I looked at her and said why didn't you ask that in the store instead of trying to humiliate me in the middle of the mall and I can not believe you expect for me to pay for something I didn't get and on top of that ruin my time and sandals from the acetone that the tech got all over them from taking the polish on and off. The small security came and told her the same thing and the gpd came and told the manger and all of the other Asian people from the establishment that they cannot treat customers like this and expect for them to pay!
