Unfortunately the Kandi Mall/Uptown Willmar is suffering from the same struggles as other retailers and malls with the closing of larger stores in recent years and vacant spaces. But I enjoy the stores and businesses that are still present, as well as the addition of Kohl’s and other new stores. I hope they will stay in business. I hope the mall stays open as it is another place to go in a small town, even for walkers.

Like many malls in small towns, Kandi Mall has lost the business of larger retailers. However, every time we go there we get excellent customer service from the businesses that remain. Taqueria El Guerrerito has the best authentic Mexican food. My kids like the pizza and calzones at Zeppole's. While it is nothing like the heydays of the 1980's, this mall has enough clothing, shoes, and entertainment to keep my family content.

Kandi Mall is not much of a mall. Herbergers, JC Penny's, Sears, and many of the other retail stores are gone. The mall has Kohls, Harbor Freight, and a few hair salons and not much else. Time to get it going or shut it down.

Need a Hallmark store. Used to be Evenson's Hallmark shop. New owner hasn't done anything to improve it; one whole end still empty after many years. Needs more stores for gift shopping. Only Penneys and Herbergers, a couple shoe stores, and Christopher and Banks/C.J. Banks, only 2 eating places, just kind of hopeless.

We need a crossroads type of mall, because kandi mall is just plain awful and boring for shopping.
