Great stores if you can get to them. A maze of sparsely labeled thoroughfares, no way to delineate a thru road from a parking cul-de-sac. I can see the sign on the store, but I can't seem to find a way there.

I remember granite run mall from back in 1976 when I worked there as an attendant at alladins castle where all the mall rats hung out at one time or another. It was a great place to meet up with friends and hangout. Sorry to see it has become a shell of what it used to be. Will remember those good ole days of being a part of that mall and the friends I made there back then.

I remember as a kid going here a lot with my dad to the various arcades they had. One a remember is Aladdin’s castle. I liked that mall better then Springfield and Macdade. However by the time I got old enough to go there by myself the mall was basically empty. I did work at jc penny’s for a short time there.

As of 2017, Granite Run Mall has closed (and has been closed for some time). It is being converted into a mixed-use property and the only stores left from the original complex are Boscovs and Sears. Everything else met the wrecking ball. Back in the day, Granite Run Mall was THE mall to go to in Delaware County, the mall that trumped Springfield Mall and MacDade Mall in size, number of stores, you name it. My friends and I would spend hours aimlessly wandering its hallways and partaking in activities that, no matter how miniscule, would one day become actual memories that could never be re-created. I worked for over a year at Modell's Sporting Goods, selling lackluster quality sporting goods, apparel, and shoes to suburbanites and their semi-spoiled children. My buddy worked at Gamestop, ensuring that he would always be kept up to date on the latest game and console releases, even before they would come out. We would take our dinner breaks together at Sbarro. When a Burger King was in the mall, one of the managers looked like a redheaded version of my dad. The Burger King closed, was supposed to be replaced by a La Tolteca Mexican restaurant, and eventually became a wall against which vending machines were placed.
