Mr. by ,
Without M.B. would be paying much more for same items. Other big name supermarket sales prices require multiple items for sale price which in actuality is more than M.B. regular price. Never encountered any negative employee actions.
Store Director Wednesday, November 7th 2017 by ,
I went shopping at the Westgate Mall Market Basket for my elderly friend on Wednesday November 8th, and per usual I had her credit card. The cashier made a mistake and rang in things that were not mine. As a former retail employee, when a transaction has been processed improperly: this means any receipt and any form of payment done in error, the transaction CAN BE voided from the system, meaning it will not show up on a statement as being debited, due to error made, and then as a refund or credited back. The Store Director named on my receipt is Glenn Connors. My refund receipt. When discussing with this manager on November 8th, about how NOT to confuse my elderly friend with extra transactions that were due to his cashiers error, (mistakes happen) he proceeded to be one of the rudest, most arrogant customer service representatives I have ever come across. The conversation: onesided, because he put his hand up to silence me, included a winning sentence from this condescending jerk. "The only way to void something is; say if you got dog food, toilet paper and bananas and you changed your mind on one of them, you can void it". (Isn't that just the 'delete' button?). So it was a sale at $78 dollars, a refund of $78, and then a repurchase at $50. NOT A VOIDED TRANSACTION! as in never happened. The cashier was very polite. The 2 women at the desk were also very nice, even though I had a surprisingly unusual request. The cashier that rerang me (in line again) was polite as well, as was the front end supervisor, for the most part. That was my first trip to market basket. I've worked with 'know it all' 'I can't be bothered' and 'I'm smarter than you, only my opinions matters' customer service managers before, and I instantly felt bad for his employees. He spoke to me as if I were 12 and late for dinner. Well Glenn Connors, (Store Director & name on the receipt that day), At a later date I asked approximately 20 employees what they thought of the manager that worked November 8th, Wednesday. 20 said 'difficult', 'unkind', 'rude; especially to women' 'superior', 'try to avoid', 'can't talk to', unhelpful, 'makes you feel less than', 'criticizes everything and everyone, Makes you UNSUCCESSFUL as a store manager. I will shop there for my friend if she needs me to and I will shop there because every employee that I spoke with was kind. It's not hard to be kind. I will also avoid you at all costs. Usually know it all's prefer that effect they have on people. Otherwise, they may just learn something new, from a woman! Can't have that..
