Dimond Center is a regional shopping mall in Anchorage, Alaska, located on the southwest corner of East Dimond Boulevard and the Old Seward Highway in south Anchorage. It is the largest enclosed mall in the state of Alaska, though the open-air Tikahtnu Commons in NE Anchorage has a greater gross leasable area. The mall covers 728,000 square feet and contains over 90 stores, restaurants and services, including a six-story office tower at the mall’s southeast corner. The lower level in the office tower also contains a small food court, a bowling alley, an ice skating rink, and a health club. The mall is anchored by Best Buy, Dave & Buster’s and a 9-screen Regal Cinemas theater. Dimond Center underwent a major expansion in 1981, adding a replacement Pay 'n Save drug store and other stores. In 1982, a competing development, the Great Northern Mall, was announced for the tract of land across the Old Seward Highway from the mall. However, due to a real estate-related economic crash that hit Anchorage during most of the middle and late 1980s, only a small portion of that proposed development was ever constructed. Dimond Center continued to grow and evolve over the years, adding more retail stores, dining options, entertainment venues and professional offices. It also invested in the local community by creating jobs and boosting commerce. Dimond Center also made a point of giving back to the community that has given it so much.

Dimond Center remains a family-owned business, run by the next generation of Ashlocks, with the same commitment to family and community as the day it was founded. They have created a community hub that meets the needs of Alaskans by offering shopping, dining, business and entertainment services in a safe, family-friendly environment. Some of the interesting features of Dimond Center include: An ice skating rink, A bowling alley that has 36 lanes with automatic scoring systems and bumpers for kids, A health club, A movie theater, A Dave & Buster’s restaurant. Dimond Center has a variety of dining options for different tastes and budgets. Some of the restaurants in Dimond Center include: Old Cannery Bar & Grill, Sushi & Sushi, Olive Garden restaurant, Auntie Anne’s. Dimond Center is open from Monday to Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm and on Sunday from 12 pm to 7 pm. The ice skating rink is open from Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 9 pm, on Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm and on Sunday from 12 pm to 8 pm. The movie theater is open from Monday to Thursday from 11 am to 11 pm, on Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 12 am and on Sunday from 11 am to 10 pm. Dimond Center has free, uncovered parking for its customers. There are over 3,000 parking spaces available around the mall. There are also bus stops near the mall that are served by the Anchorage People Mover public transit system. Some of the bus routes that stop near the mall include Route 9 (Dimond Center/Debarr), Route 60 (Old Seward/Oceanview) and Route 75 (Tudor/Dimond).

I don't even know where to begin. Everytime I pass Billissima in the Dimond Center, I tried hard not to make eye contact with the pushy salesman. Well, a wee little man ran up to me and basically dragged me into the store to give him "30 seconds" of my time. Then he proceeded to insult me, telling me he can take away all the wrinkles around my eyes and basically give me a facelift... I was like, guy, I don't have any wrinkles yet, and I don't need a facelift... but, I did make the mistake of telling him I was only interested in finding a product that would basically act as a color corrector, something with retinal that would make my skin appear evenly toned. He swindled me into buying $300 worth of crap. He tried to get me on a $500 package, but when he saw I was ready to leave, he bargained his way back to $300. Looking back on the experience, I can tell you that this little dude probably makes bank on commission, but I bet you, 9 out of 10 customers will probably never return.
